Heart failure: From Definition to Prognosis - An Integrated Analysis of Epidemiological Data, Clinical and Paraclinical Findings, and Prognosis

Currently, heart failure (HF) represents a major challenge in the medical field, affecting a significant number of people globally. Although previous research has brought valuable contributions, recent discoveries and approaches bring new perspectives to this complex condition. Among the analyzed data, there is a notable increase in the incidence of HF, particularly among younger individuals, with a significant risk in hospitalizations in the future. Risk factors for HF are linked to unhealthy lifestyle and medical conditions such as atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, and hypertension. For diagnosis, paraclinical investigations, consisting of electrocardiography and echocardiography, are essential, while measuring plasma natriuretic peptides can provide valuable additional insights. The prognosis of HF patients varies depending on the type of HF, being influenced by factors such as age, gender, and comorbidities.
