Abstract

Water quality doesn’t always correspond to the requirements of different consumers. Despite the fact that actually natural water quality in the Republic is better than it was in 1970-1990 years, the content in surface and ground waters of some pollutants (NH4+, NO2-, Cu, fenol, sulphurs, fl uor etc.) denotes still exceeding of admissible maximal concentration. It is established that water of the Nistru and Prut rivers is of II and III class of quality, but of small rivers – of IV and V classes. The studies demonstrate that the water of about 13% of 1485 wells has the type NO3 – HCO3 – SO4(Cl). Proceeding from the mentioned, the present material includes the conditions of sulphur removing and nitrites oxidation (> 90%) by using catalysts, obtained on the basis of active carbons.
