Abstract

Tuberculosis is a serious infectious disease with a global impact, causing a significant number of deaths each year. It continues to pose a major challenge to the healthcare system and requires sustained efforts for control and prevention. The aim of this study was to analyze the historical aspects of tuberculosis and the outcomes of global and local control programs. The materials and methods involved research of specialized literature. The main conclusions include the historical evolution of tuberculosis, the impact of discoveries and medical advancements on its treatment and control, as well as the ongoing need to implement effective prevention and treatment strategies.
