Abstract

Toxocariasis, a helminthic disease caused by Toxocara canis and Toxocara cati, primarily affects children, who are more susceptible to infection due to exposure to contaminated environments. The study included 50 children, with diagnosis confirmed through ELISA testing, and the treatments used were Albendazole, both in monotherapy and in combination with Proteflazid. The results showed a significant reduction in respiratory symptoms, levels of eosinophils, and specific antibodies after treatment, with more pronounced effects in the group receiving the combined treatment. The conclusions of the study suggest that combined therapeutic approaches may optimize the management of toxocariasis in children, thereby improving the immunological response.
