Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the prenatal risk factors in children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). A total of 53 children with BPD and 52 children without BPD, all with a birth weight of 1500 g or less, were included. The main objective was to identify prenatal risk factors associated with the development of BPD. Prenatal risk factors had a significant impact on the development of BPD, including anemia during pregnancy, premature rupture of membranes, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and the mode of delivery (vaginal or cesarean). Identifying and managing these risk factors are essential steps in reducing the incidence of BPD and improving long - term outcomes for affected preterm infants.
