Polyserositis in tuberculosis is a sign of a form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, which can be associated with a severe course of the disease and often requires intensive treatment with antituberculosis antibiotics and sometimes surgery to control complications. The diagnosis of polyserositis due to tuberculosis is complex and challenging, which can cause delays in treatment. This article represents the case of patient P., with generalized tuberculosis, polyserositis, bacteriologically confirmed (by culture, BACTEC), evolutionary phase. To confirm the diagnosis, specific tuberculosis examinations were performed: BAAR, GeneXpert, BACTEC. Biochemical examination of the blood, oncogenic markers, thyroid gland hormones, microscopic and biochemical examination of the pleural fluid, chest x-rays, repeated echocardiography, abdominal and thoracic CT, abdominal ultrasonography were performed, which allowed the exclusion of other causes of polyserositis and the application of medication election. Against the background of specific antibiotic treatment, the patient’s condition improved and the exudates regressed.
