Abstract

The analysis of cases with bronchial asthma in the post-COVID-19 period highlights the frequency of respiratory, cardiovascular and neuropsychiatric symptoms, increased inflammatory biochemical markers, dysregulation of pulmonary respiratory function. Elderly patients with asthma in the post-COVID-19 period exhibit some peculiarities, such as high comorbidity, use of a large number of medications, individualized response to treatment, different perception of symptoms and a higher mortality rate. These aspects emphasize the need to maintain optimal asthma control and prevent exacerbations that can accelerate the progression to respiratory failure. Further research is needed to effectively address issues related to different asthma phenotypes, treatment intensity and degree of disease
