Abstract

The autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcal infection (PANS/PANDAS) is a rare subtype of idiopathic autoimmune encephalitis that manifests as recently developed tics and obsessive - compulsive disorder following an infection with Group A beta - hemolytic Streptococcus. This clinical case illustrates a rare situation of suspected PANDAS and highlights the need for national management protocols for autoimmune neurological pathologies.
