Multimorbidity has become a major public health issue, imposing a substantial burden on both patients and the healthcare system. Since multimorbidity is not a diagnosis, the phenomenon’s prevalence remains unknown in daily clinical practice, and it’s impact is underestimated. A retrospective cohort study included 2592 patients aged 18 years and older (58.2% women). Multimorbidity was identified in 59.4% of cases. Women were more affected by multimorbidity, and the number of multimorbid patients in the urban population was statistically higher than in rural areas.
