Abstract

This paper provides an updated analysis of the available data on the clinical efficacy, safety profile, indications, and practical implementation of allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT). The immunological mechanisms are described, highlighting the shift from a Th2-driven proinflammatory response to a tolerant immunologic profile. The role of AIT in reducing symptoms, decreasing medication use, preventing disease progression, and improving quality of life is emphasized.
