Introduction. Individuals with obesity and COVID-19 were more likely to have metabolic disorders. Objective: To identify morphofunctional changes in erytnrocyte MCH and RDW indicators, serum levels of red blood cells and ferritin in obese patients with COVID-19. Material and methods. The examined 44 patients: men - 27 (61.62%), women - 17 (38.8%), mean age 55.16±4.5 years were divided into 4 groups: Group I (n=9) patients with body mass index (BMI) 30 - 34.9 kg/m², Gr. II (n=8) - BMI35-39.9, Gr. III (n=10) with BMI>40 kg/m² and comparison group (Gr.k) (n=17) patients with COVID-19, with normal weight. The degree of obesity was determined by BMI (body mass index) - the ratio of body weight in kilograms to the square of height in meters (kg/m²).Results obtained. Erythrocytes were found in Gr.I - 4.67±0.16, p≥0.05 in Gr. II - 4.82±0.1 p≤0.05, in Gr. III - 4.82±0.2, p≥0.05, compared to Gr.k - 4.68±0.13 (106/ul), RDW index was maximally increased in Gr. III - 13±0.3, p≤0.05, in Gr. II - 12.7±0.13, p≤0.01 in Gr. I - 12±0.3, p≤0.05, compared to Gr.k - 12.15±0.14 (%). MCH index - in Gr. I - 28±0.6, p≤0.01, in Gr. II - 26±0.3, p≤0.001 and in Gr. III - 24.0±0.8, p≤0.001 compared to Gr.k - 30.4±0.5 (pg). There was a tendency to increase serum ferritin levels - in Gr. I - 455±18.3, p≤0.05, in Gr. II - 468±18, p≤0.01, been higher in Gr. III - 551±11.4 ng/ml, p≤0.001 compared to Gr.k - 447.4±18.4 (ng/ml.).Conclusions. The results of the studies confirm the presence of morphofunctional disorders of erythrocytes and erythrocyte indices with an increase in serum ferritin in obese hepatic patients with Covid-19 directly proportional to the increase in body mass index.
