A total of 517 cases collected from the records of the Thanatology Department Chișinău were analyzed for the period 2020-2024. The study aimed to establish the frequency, structure, and predisposing factors of lethal thoracoabdominal traumas based on age, sex, circumstances of death and injury characteristics. The study found a predominant impact on males (70.41%), and the 60-69 age group emerged as the most susceptible demographic (21.7%). In 83% of cases, thoracoabdominal trauma was associated with injuries to other body regions. The most common injuries were rib fractures and pulmonary injures in the thorax and splenic rupture in the abdomen. The main cause of death in thoracoabdominal blunt trauma was hemorrhagic shock (50.7%).
