Abstract

Lying is a common behavioral strategy used in criminal investigations, and its detection has become an essential component of criminal psychology. This article explores various methods for analyzing nonverbal behavior - facial microexpressions, gestural incongruences, physiological reactions, and the cognitive interview technique - as tools for lie detection [1, 2, 3, 4]. The paper highlights the practical usefulness of these methods in judicial investigations and emphasizes their limitations when not interpreted by trained professionals [1, 3].
