Rezumat

The purpose of this research is to study the effect of specific XDR-TB therapy on liver function in patients with concomitant viral hepatitis (B and C). The protocols of the Medical Consilium on the treatment of patients with Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis and the results of monitoring the treatment of XDR-TB patients for the period 06.06.2017– 13.06.2019 were analyzed. During this period, 469 patients started the treatment with XDR-TB (346 men, 127 women). The analysis showed that there were 54 XDR-TB patients with concomitant viral hepatitis (B and C). The co-infection with hepatitis B and C is not a contraindication to the prescription of specific therapy for XDR-TB patients. Despite the fact that the drugs used are hepatotoxic, there have been no serious adverse reactions that contribute to the elimination of anti-tuberculosis treatment for XDR-TB patients with hepatitis B and C. An important condition is a thorough examination of the patient before treatment, monitoring the patient’s condition on a monthly basis, timely prescription of treatment, stopping the progression of undesirable reactions arising from the use of anti-tuberculosis drugs from the therapy.
