Rezumat

Diagnostic methods of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) have a direct impact on the implementation of prompt actions on the isolation of the source of tuberculosis (TB) infection and initiation of the optimal treatment. The aim of the study was to establish the clinical and radiological peculiarities of patients diagnosed with PTB through microbiological and radiological investigations in the actual epidemiological context. It was conducted a case - control study on 172 patients diagnosed with PTB, new case, distributed into the 2 groups, the group 1 - 116 patients diagnosed through the radiological methods of examination and the group 2 - 56 patients diagnosed through the microbiological methods. The obtained results demonstrated that the main peculiarities of patients diagnosed with PTB regardless of the detection methods included: male gender, low social and economical state and high prevalence of the harmful habits with impact on the health state.
