Rezumat

An immunohistochemical study using anti-CD34 monoclonal antibody and an electronomicroscopical investigation were carried out on biopsy and surgical specimens from 44 patients with dysplasia, carcinoma in situ and invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix. Blood capillary in the stroma of cervical neoplasias were strongly stained by anti-CD34 antibody. The increase of capillary diameter and apparition of sinusoid-like vessels in more severe lesions were detected. Electromicroscopically, their wall was abnormal, incompletely covered by pericytes and their basal membrane was thin and fragmented, sometimes absent. These features are probably responsible for increased permeability of vessels, fi brinogen extravasation and formation of the novel stromal fi brin matrix.
