Glandele Skene, cunoscute și sub denumirea de glande parauretrale, sunt situate inferolateral pe ambele părți ale uretrei feminine și sunt considerate omologul feminin al prostatei masculine, care provine din sinusul urogenital. Anomaliile glandei Skene sunt rare și incidența este necunoscută. Autorii au prezentat o observație clinică a unui chist al glandei Skene și o revizuire narativă a literaturii despre această patologie.
