Rezumat

Inhibitorul cotransportorului de sodiu-glucoză 2 (SGLT2i), dezvoltat inițial ca un nou medicament hipoglicemiant, a demonstrat în trialurile clinice de siguranță cardiovasculară un spectru surprinzător de efecte cardiovasculare favorabile. Analizele post-hoc ale seturilor de date din aceste studii prospective au indicat o asociere semnificativă statistic a SGLT2i cu incidența și povara aritmiilor cardiace. În prezent, există puține studii prospective care au avut ca obiectiv evaluarea efectelor antiaritmice ale SGLT2i. Datele din cercetările clinice și fundamentale sugerează că SGLT2i își pot exercita efectele antiaritmice prin descărcarea hemodiamică a ventriculului sting și îmbunătățirea funcției cardiace, prevenirea remodelării adverse a cordului, modularea canalelor ionice în miocard, influențând astfel potențialul de acțiune; cu toate acestea, mecanismul exact necesită investigații suplimentare.
