Rezumat

Infecția cu Clostridioides difficile a fost evidențiată ca o problemă majoră de sănătate publică, inclusiv ca una din cele mai frecvente infecții asociate asistenței medicale. Utilizarea de medicamente (antimicrobiene, antisecretoare gastrice) s-a menționat ca factor de risc pentru dezvoltarea infecției cu Clostridioides difficile . Inhibitorii pompei de protoni s-au raportat a fi prescriși frecvent nu numai pentru tratamentul stărilor asociate cu hipersecreția gastrică, dar și într-un șir de patologii mai puțin specifice. Considerate medicamente sigure și eficiente utilizarea frecventă și, îndeosebi, de lungă durată au motivat cercetătorii să studieze inofensivitatea inhibitorilor pompei de protoni. În acest context s-a investigat influența acestora asupra absorbției vitaminelor și mineralelor, dezvoltarea infecțiilor (intestinale, pulmonare), afecțiunilor renale și cardiovasculare, cancerului gastric, demenței, etc. Dezvoltarea infecției cu Clostridioides difficile , indusă de inhibitorii pompei de protoni, s-a considerat o reacție adversă cu o incidență în creștere, iar elucidarea patogenezei și mecanismelor responsabile este esențială pentru gestionarea utilizării raționale a acestor medicamente antisecretorii.
