Артериальная гипертензия и сахарный диабет две взаимосвязанные сердечно-сосудистые болезни, с высоким ростом распространенности и риском развития сердечно-сосудистых осложнений. Общая патофизиология для сахарного диабета и артериальной гипертонией позволяет объяснить присутствие гипертонии у диабетиков и диабета у гипертоников. Эффективные меры для снижения сердечно-сосудистого риска требуется контроль всех факторов риска, артериального давления, уровня сахара и липидов.
