Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the current guidelines and methodological recommendations on the detection of suspects and methods of diagnosis of tuberculosis in order to identify the need to update them.

Material and methodology: a review of the literature consisting in the evaluation of the electronic sources published in PubMed and the HINARI health literature collection, as well as the paper publications, were evaluated. The results were grouped and systematized according to the level of scientific evidence.
Results: the development of new guidelines and the updating of those already in use has a major importance for the standardization of TB screening and diagnostic procedures, and the annual review is one of the key principles of the management of the screening actions.
