Tremorul esențial (TE) reprezintă cea mai frecventă cauză a tremorului de acțiune întâlnit la adulți. În cele mai multe cazuri, TE poate fi gestionat de medicii de asistență medicală primară, începând cu excluderea cauzelor secundare și urmată de inițierea terapiei cu propranolol sau primidonă dacă tremorul cauzează dizabilitate. Decizia de a trimite la un neurolog depinde de încrederea clinicianului în diagnostic, de nivelul de confort al acestuia cu utilizarea medicamentelor recomandate pentru suprimarea tremorului și de răspunsul pacientului la tratament.Referințe
